There are many quality Collaborative Law attorneys, divorce mediators and family law attorneys in Portland. Here are a list of reasons to choose Forrest:
Practice Limited to Family Law
Forrest limits his practice exclusively to family law. When you work with Forrest you can be confident that you are working with someone who has extensive knowledge and expertise in Oregon family law.
Commitment to Excellence
Forrest is currently on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Association of Collaborative Professionals. He is a past Board member of the Oregon Mediation Association as well as the ADR Section of the Oregon State Bar. Forrest regularly attends continuing education programs in the field of family law and is part of a practice group called Bridges Divorce which meets twice per month. Additionally, Forrest has spent a substantial amount of time developing this website as a resource for clients.
Forrest offers a wide variety of services to meet the needs of all clients, including Divorce Mediation, Collaborative Law, Uncontested Divorce and assistance with Do-It-Yourself Divorce. When you first meet with Forrest the meeting will focus on which divorce process makes the most sense for your situation.
Forrest has been practicing law for over seven years. Because Forrest also offers traditional representation (i.e., appearing in court), he has a good understanding of trends in the law and likely court outcomes.
No Retainer Requirement
Many firms require a substantial retainer fee. We don’t. You will be asked to place a credit card on file to pay the fees for your case.
There is a lot of divorce literature out there. We have purchased a number of books that are available for clients to check out.
We recognize that people have busy lives and that not everyone can meet in the middle of the day. Forrest offers a limited number of evening appointments for clients who cannot otherwise schedule during the regular work day.
Phone and Online Appointments
For your convenience phone or online appointments can be scheduled in place of in person meetings. This tends to work well for clients who live in a different part of the state, travel for work or just cannot make it to the office due to work or child care constraints. You can choose to have your initial consultation (and any subsequent meeting) over the phone or in in person. A phone appointment is scheduled just like an in person appointment. This is just one more way our office tries to make this difficult transition a little bit easier for you.
You can schedule your own appointment using our online scheduling system. Forrest’s calendar is updated in real time so you can easily figure out a time that is convenient for you.
