Online Mediation

Online mediation is a concept designed for people who cannot or simply prefer not to travel to the mediator's office. Online mediation is conducted via teleconference; it is not actually conducted online (though the idea of mediating via Skype is currently being explored). Once a date and time are determined clients will be provided with a phone number and access code so they can participate in the mediation. All necessary documents can be transmitted by email or fax.

Online mediation allows people to resolve their disputes from anywhere in the world. You no longer need to concern yourself with scheduling around business travel. Co-parents in Bend and Portland can easily mediate a dispute online rather than having to arrange multiple trips back and forth. A divorce mediation in Medford can be conducted from the Portland office without clients ever having to leave their homes. "Lunch break" mediation is now possible as long as you have phone access.

Online mediation is a useful tool, though it is not a perfect tool. For example, subtleties of body language that can be recognized in person cannot be transmitted over the phone. Call to discuss the next steps and whether online mediation may be appropriate for your case.
